Kaweah Health Medical Group welcomes Visalia native as new family medicine physician

VISALIA- The big city vibe was no match for Visalia’s hometown charm for our newest family medicine physician who is thrilled to be back home, serving patients in Tulare County and caring for the community she loves most.

Sheena Edmonds, D.O. is now accepting patients at Kaweah Health Medical Group (KHMG), an affiliate at Kaweah Health, at 5400 W. Hillsdale Ave., Visalia. Dr. Edmonds is Kaweah Health Medical Group’s eighth family medicine physician and is offering in-person visits and telehealth appointments.

As a family medicine physician, Dr. Edmonds provides comprehensive care to the entire family, including patients two months and older. She provides a variety of healthcare services including: preventative exams, papanicolaou tests, skin biopsies, treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, and much more. She always has one goal in mind: putting her patients’ needs first.

“I am the patients’ advocate. I always have their best interest in mind, because health is a journey. Patients are the leaders and I am always on their team,” said Dr. Edmonds.

Dr. Edmonds is a graduate of Western University of Health Science - College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific with a Bachelor’s in Science and completed a Master’s degree at UCSF Fresno - where she also received her training.

She has the fortune of seeing entire generations in her practice to help maintain their mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. “The best part of seeing generations of families is that I become a part of each and every one of my patients’ families,” said Dr. Edmonds.

It’s a full circle moment for Dr. Sheena Edmonds, as she now cares for patients in the same place where she was once cared for as a child. It’s an honor that she doesn’t take lightly.

“I want to provide the same quality care that I was once given at KHMG. I was cared for as a patient and as a person, and I strive to make each patient feel the same way.”

As she cares for patients in the Central Valley, Dr. Edmonds has reimmersed herself in discovering all the gems that Visalia has to offer. When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Edmonds enjoys attending local activities such as the Visalia Rawhide baseball games and events hosted by Visalia’s Parks & Recreation. She loves the outdoors, exercising, and is a loyal World Wrestling Entertainment fan. Her caring nature transcends beyond her office and into her home, where she cares for several pets including: dogs, cats, turtles, and fish.

Kaweah Health Medical Group (KHMG) is a Multiple Specialty partnership between Kaweah Health and Visalia Medical Clinic, the physician-owned medical group that has served the medical needs of the community for the over 80 years.
